(Baonghean.vn) - That isThe Dong Van rattan and bamboo weaving village (Quynh Dien, Quynh Luu) has been successful since its establishment in 2004, creating jobs for hundreds of workers, with revenue reaching nearly 5 billion VND per year in 2015.

Currently, the Dong Van rattan and bamboo weaving village has 341 workers. The main products made by the villagers are various types of lanterns. Each year, the Dong Van rattan and bamboo weaving village sells 480,000 products to the market. In 2015, the total production income reached nearly 5 billion VND. The average per capita income is between 2.5 and 3 million VND per year.

Compared to other localities in the district, for many years, the Dong Van rattan and bamboo weaving village has consistently played a good role as a vocational training center for the local people, providing employment for hundreds of workers in the area.

The products made from rattan and bamboo are mainly lanterns of various kinds.The price of a large woven bamboo lantern is 800,000 VND/piece; a medium one is 40,000 VND and a small one is 25,000 VND/piece.

The above results were achieved thanks to the attention of the government and local authorities in connecting with businesses that purchase rattan and bamboo products from the people; encouraging and creating conditions for people to learn and practice the craft. Currently, all rattan and bamboo products of the people are purchased by Duc Phong Co., Ltd., which also supplies raw materials for production.
