Bamboo and rattan weaving village has revenue of nearly 5 billion VND/year

(Baonghean.vn) - That is lDong Van bamboo and rattan weaving village (Quynh Dien, Quynh Luu). Since its establishment (2004) until now, the craft village has promoted its effectiveness, creating jobs for hundreds of workers, in 2015 the revenue reached nearly 5 billion VND/year.

People in Dong Van craft village are producing bamboo and rattan products.

Currently, Dong Van rattan and bamboo weaving village has 341 workers participating in the profession. The main rattan and bamboo weaving products made by the people are lanterns of all kinds. Each year, Dong Van rattan and bamboo weaving village sells 480 thousand products to the market. In 2015, the total income from production reached nearly 5 billion VND. The average income per capita reached 2.5-3 million VND/year.

Compared to other localities in the district, over the years, Dong Van bamboo and rattan weaving village has always promoted its role as a vocational training facility for local people, creating jobs for hundreds of local workers.

Bamboo and rattan products are mainly lanterns of all kinds.Price of large rattan lanterns is 800,000 VND/piece; medium lanterns are 40,000 VND/piece and small lanterns are 25,000 VND/piece.

The above results are thanks to the attention of the local government in connecting with businesses to purchase rattan and bamboo products for the people; encouraging and creating conditions for people to learn and practice the profession. Currently, all rattan and bamboo products of the people are purchased by Duc Phong Company Limited and supplied with raw materials for production.
