(Baonghean.vn) - Cua Lo enters the 2016 beach tourism season with many innovations in coastal urban management, improving the quality of tourism services in the direction of: Discipline - Brand.

These days, Cua Lo is bustling with activity, as the town strives to build its tourism motto: "discipline - brand." Urban beautification is always the town's top priority. Accordingly, a series of projects are being implemented.

For example: repairing the entire electrical system and decorative lights; maintaining, trimming, and planting flowerbeds, lawns, and trees along the roads; and addressing the encroachment and illegal expansion of some business kiosks on the east side of Binh Minh Street...

The town has reorganized and planted trees along the east side of Binh Minh Street. Advertising signs at restaurants and hotels have been replaced with a standardized design. The town has also issued regulations prohibiting the parking of four-wheeled electric vehicles and vehicles with 24 seats or more on certain streets to ensure the safety of tourists.

The town also encourages businesses and households to invest in upgrading facilities and equipment to serve tourists.

Currently, the town has 288 hotels and guesthouses with over 8,500 rooms, enough to accommodate approximately 19,000 visitors per day. Among these, 30 hotels meet 1 to 4-star standards; notably, some 4-star hotels include: Muong Thanh - Cua Lo; Saigon - Kim Lien; Summer...

Mr. Phan Cong Doi, Head of the Urban Management Department, stated: "At this point, urban beautification work has been basically completed. With the efforts of the town and the responsible support of organizations and individuals throughout the town, we are creating a new, civilized, polite, and safe tourist environment for the 2016 tourist season."

With the ultimate goal of "putting tourists at the center," as the tourist season begins this year, the town is taking steps to streamline business operations at the kiosks. Accordingly, instead of signing contracts for 5 or 10 years, starting from this tourist season, Cua Lo will organize the signing of business contracts for kiosks along the coastline on a year-by-year basis.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Lo town, this policy will bring many positive results to tourism business activities in Cua Lo; on the one hand, it creates conditions for new businesses to participate in tourism activities, creating new features and methods to better serve tourists; on the other hand, it increases measures and sanctions against businesses that do not strictly comply with the town's regulations on tourism business, resulting in contract termination after one year.

Besides the positive aspects of this policy, according to Ms. Dung, the town has also implemented solutions to disseminate and train business owners on the town's regulations and policies, especially the "5 no's" rule. This is coupled with solutions for strict monitoring and control of prices and service quality.

Currently, the town has established an inspection team, and each ward has established an urban security team to conduct inspections and checks of restaurants and hotels regarding prices and service quality. Simultaneously, penalties have been imposed: establishments that violate regulations for the first time will be fined 2 million VND; those that violate the regulations for the second time will have their electricity cut off for 3 days; and those that violate the regulations for the third time will have their contracts terminated.

The living environment in the coastal tourist town of Cua Lo is increasingly attracting tourists.

Alongside thorough and comprehensive preparation in terms of infrastructure, promotion and advertising of Cua Lo tourism, and innovation in management, Cua Lo town is also coordinating with organizations to create many attractive programs.

In addition to the "Cua Lo Beach Sings" art program; fireworks display on the opening night of the Cua Lo tourism festival; and traditional boat racing, this year, for the first time, the town will organize the "Cua Lo Beach Beauty" contest; food fairs and Korean goods exhibitions associated with cultural exchange with the Korean people; and national golf, beach volleyball, and petanque tournaments... Cua Lo will also introduce thrill rides; and organize folk singing performances every Saturday and Sunday evening at the Sea Daisy Park throughout the tourist season...

All preparations in Cua Lo are geared towards welcoming over 2.6 million visitors, including nearly 1.5 million overnight guests; 6,000 international visitors; and achieving tourism service revenue of 2,712 billion VND during the 2016 tourist season.
