Nghe An: Road closures for the 2016 National Cycling Race.

(Baonghean.vn) - The People's Committee of Nghe An province has just issued Official Document No. 1887, regarding road closures to facilitate the national cycling race.

Accordingly, to facilitate the 2016 Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup Cycling Race, the People's Committee of Nghe An province has authorized traffic diversion and partial road closures on Truong Thi, Ho Tung Mau, Le Mao, and part of Tran Phu streets in Vinh City. These closures will be in effect from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM on April 13, 2016.

The Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to work directly with the Road Management Department II, the Department of Transport, and the Provincial Police to arrange checkpoints for traffic diversion, close certain roads, and announce the information through mass media to ensure public order and traffic safety during the event.

According to the organizers, the race will start in Hanoi on April 10th and finish on the historic April 30th in front of the Reunification Palace (Ho Chi Minh City). The total race route is 2,056km, conquering 9 mountain passes.

The competition featured 78 racers from 13 strong teams nationwide: VUS-Ho Chi Minh City, Mathnasium Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Da-Hanoi, Military Region 7, Army, BTV Binh Duong, Duoc Domesco Dong Thap, Dogarlic Dong Thap, Gao Hat Ngoc Troi-An Giang, An Giang Plant Protection, Ben Tre, Vinh Long and Can Tho City.

The riders will compete in 19 stages to vie for the overall yellow jersey, green jersey, polka-dot jersey, white jersey, and the team championship. The total prize money amounts to 1 billion VND.
