Nghe An Newspaper: Spreading the spirit of 'actions speak louder than words'
(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of April 25th, the Party Committee of Nghe An Newspaper held a conference to summarize the 5-year implementation of Directive 03/CT-TW on continuing to promote the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's moral example. Comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan – Secretary of the Party Committee and Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper – chaired the conference.
Attending the conference were Comrade Hoang Van Nhien – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc; Le Thi Kim Oanh – Head of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc; and party members and staff of the agency.

Over the past five years since the implementation of Directive 03/CT-TW, the staff and reporters of Nghe An Newspaper have focused on following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings. In particular, key officials have set an example in carrying out their duties, especially in leadership, management, and administration. Many innovative initiatives have yielded high results, such as: completing the project to improve the quality of Nghe An Newspaper for the period 2011-2015; implementing partial financial autonomy to alleviate budgetary burdens; and promoting administrative reform, decentralization, and delegation of authority to create proactive roles for departments and divisions.

In particular, the editorial office has successfully implemented a converged newsroom model, contributing to the increasing professionalism of the agency's operations. This has led to improved content quality in the printed newspaper, making it more accessible to readers and earning it a ranking among the top four newspapers in the local Party newspaper system. The print newspaper has increased from five issues per week, each with four pages, to seven issues per week, each with eight pages. Circulation has increased from nearly 10,000 copies per issue in 2011 to nearly 17,000 copies per issue.

Online newspapers are constantly innovating in quality and convenience to meet readers' needs; the average daily traffic reaches 200,000 visits. The readership has expanded to many countries and has become a reputable channel for foreign affairs information for Nghe An as well as the country.

Over the past five years, Nghe An Newspaper has won hundreds of journalism awards at various levels. Notably, it has won six National Journalism Awards, including one A prize. Nghe An Newspaper became a cultural unit in 2012; in 2015 it achieved the status of a model clean and strong organization; and the agency received the title of outstanding collective in completing its tasks. In particular, in September 2015, Nghe An Newspaper was honored by the State with the title of Hero of Labor in the Renovation Period.
On this occasion, one group and four individuals were awarded for their achievements in "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh".
