Nghe An province now has two additional national highways: 7B and 48E.
(Baonghean.vn) - According to Decision No. 1084/QD-BGTVT dated April 8, 2016, of the Minister of Transport, Provincial Road 538 connecting National Highway 7 with National Highway 46B is designated as National Highway 7B, and is assigned to the Vietnam Road Administration for management, operation, and maintenance.
Specifically: The starting point is Km0+00 in Dien Ky commune, Dien Chau district (Km420+820/QL.1); the ending point is Thanh Dong commune, Thanh Chuong district (Km45+200/QL.46B). The total length of National Highway 7B is 44.9 km (excluding the section overlapping with National Highway 7).
According to Decision No. 1085/QD-BGTVT of the Minister of Transport, several sections of provincial roads 537B, 531, 545, and 534 will be converted into National Highway 48E.

The starting point is at Km0+00 at Lach Corn Port, Quynh Phuong Commune, Hoang Mai Town; the ending point is Nghi Thach Commune, Nghi Loc District (Km4 + 900/QL.46); the total length of this road is 213.35 km (excluding sections overlapping with QL.1, Vinh City bypass, QL.15, QL.48D, and QL.48).
The above decisions state: The Ministry of Transport assigns the Vietnam Road Administration to entrust the Nghe An Department of Transport with the management, operation, and maintenance of the route in accordance with regulations. The People's Committee of Nghe An province directs local functional agencies to work with the Vietnam Road Administration and relevant agencies to receive the handover, resolve related issues, and ensure continuous management and operation without affecting traffic on the route.
