(Baonghean.vn)- On the morning of April 16, at Quy Nhon University, Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh), the Closing Ceremony and Award Ceremony for the 2016 National Mathematics Olympiad for Students and Pupils took place.

Attending the closing ceremony were Prof. Dr. Bui Van Ga - Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Du - President of the Vietnam Mathematical Society, Executive Director of the Institute of Advanced Mathematics; Mr. Vo Vinh Quang - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Dinh Province; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Anh - Rector of Quy Nhon University, Head of the Organizing Committee; Prof. Dr. Phung Ho Hai - Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Mathematical Society, Vice President of the Institute of Mathematics, Co-Head of the Organizing Committee, along with teachers and more than 700 students from 81 Universities, Colleges, Academies and more than 70 students from 11 specialized high schools nationwide.

The exam took place successfully with sideline activities such as a Math Workshop, a festival exchange "Students with love for the sea and islands of the Fatherland", visiting scenic spots of the land of martial arts...

All 6 students of the Mathematics Department of Vinh University achieved high prizes.

This year's competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 33 First prizes, 58 Second prizes, more than 90 Third prizes in Analysis and 30 First prizes, 58 Second prizes, more than 90 Third prizes in Algebra, along with many Encouragement prizes in 2 categories to students.

The student group was awarded 4 gold medals, 8 silver medals, 12 bronze medals. In addition, the Organizing Committee awarded special prizes to 9 students who won 2 first prizes in Algebra and Analysis, 8 students received Le Van Thiem prizes. Hanoi National University of Education won the first prize for the whole group.

Vinh University delegation, all 6/6 contestants won prizes, including: 1 first prize, 6 second prizes and 3 third prizes; Vinh University Math major students had 4 contestants participating, winning 2 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal. Specifically:
