Fighter jets launched from the aircraft carrier USS Harry S Truman yesterday after the ship entered the Mediterranean Sea via the Suez Canal, Reuters reported, citing the U.S. Navy. The force did not provide information on targets in Iraq or Syria, or the type of targets attacked.

The move demonstrates the aircraft carrier's ability to conduct long, continuous missions, including moving from one area to another, a senior U.S. Navy official said.

The USS Truman and other ships in the strike group also operated alongside the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gualle. The USS Truman was a key component of the country's fight against ISIS targets while serving in the 5th Fleet's area of operations.
