Le Courrier du Vietnam newspaper, under the Vietnam News Agency, is organizing the contest "Young Francophone-Vietnamese Reporters 2016" for all young people living in Vietnam, aged 18 to 35, who can speak and write French.

This is the first French-language journalism competition in Vietnam organized by Le Courrier du Vietnam - the only French-language weekly newspaper in Vietnam, under the auspices of the Asia-Pacific Regional Office (BRAP) of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF).

The contest also received assistance and support from the Group of French-speaking Embassies and International Delegations in Vietnam (GADIF) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

With the theme “The Power of Words,” the contest aims to encourage young people to use the diversity and richness of the French language to write about Vietnam, through their articles introducing it to French-speaking readers or expressing their feelings and perspectives on the country, landscape, culture and people of Vietnam.

Each contestant must submit a completed entry form, a copy of their ID card or passport, and their entries. Each author may submit up to 5 entries, which may be a series of entries with the same theme.

Each work must not exceed 5,000 characters (including spaces) - equivalent to about 900 words. Each article must be accompanied by one or more illustrative photos and photo captions. The photos may be taken by the author or by someone else, for which the author has the right to use and Le Courrier du Vietnam has the right to publish.

Entries and works must be sent by email to the Editorial Board of Le Courrier du Vietnam in DOC or RTF format for articles, and JPEG for photos, to the address[email protected].

Entries must be original and have never been published in any media, domestically or internationally. The author or group of authors must prove or guarantee their copyright to the submitted work.

Eligible entries are those that do not violate the regulations and laws of the Vietnamese State, do not go against national customs and culture, and do not mention issues related to politics and religion.

The time for receiving entries starts from May 10, 2016 to 12:00 midnight July 10, 2016. The finalists will be published in early August 2016 on the online newspaper http://lecourrier.vn, in the column “Young Francophone-Vietnamese Reporters 2016” for readers to vote for their favorite works.
