At the end of 2015, Tu went online to learn about spyware. This is software that monitors computer screen operations and steals data and is often used by hackers.
The software is secretly installed automatically on the user's computer. When running, bad guys can steal personal account access passwords, credit card numbers, private information...
After learning how to use it, the young man from Quang Tri created a Facebook account named "Vu Thanh Dat" and then posted on forums offering a software to make money via the Internet.
Immediately, a young man in Hanoi contacted Tu to discuss this software. He sent the victim a link to download a fake application with a file containing malicious code attached.
Waiting for the spyware to automatically run on the computer, Tu stole the victim's email account that had registered the function of making money from advertising services.
Knowing that the stolen account had been paid $1,415 via international money transfer service, Tu changed the beneficiary to appropriate the money.
After receiving the case, Trieu Phong District Police (Quang Tri) prosecuted Le Thien Tu for the above crime.
