6 month old baby girl abandoned

(Baonghean.vn) – Four days have passed but Ms. Vo Thi H (a student at Vinh Medical University) is still shocked by the incident that happened on the evening of August 23.

According to Ms. H, at around 4:00 p.m. on August 23, she and her friend, who is also a student at Vinh Medical University, were leaving after finishing their practical class at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital when they met a woman in her 30s wearing a blue shirt, gray shorts, shoulder-length hair, holding a baby girl about 6-7 months old. Seeing H, the woman begged her to hold the baby, saying she had to go back to the hospital room to get something she had forgotten.

Since August 23, the baby's mother has not returned.

After taking care of the baby while the woman returned to her room to get her things, Ms. H and her friend waited, but the woman did not return until 10 p.m. At this point, H and her friend decided to take the baby to the Hung Dung ward police station. There, after checking the belongings the strange woman had left with the baby, the ward police discovered a piece of paper with the words "January 11, 2016 lunar calendar" and some fresh milk.

Before the incident, Hung Dung Ward police made a record and announced it on the ward's radio, but the woman has not yet returned to claim her child. Many people who knew about the incident have expressed their intention to adopt the child, but the ward police are waiting for verification. Ms. Hoang Oanh, a civil status officer of Hung Dung Ward People's Committee, said: In recent years, there have been many cases of abandoned children reported to the ward by people. In the case of the girl abandoned on August 23, many people have contacted to adopt her, but the police are handling the case for further investigation.
