A 6-month-old girl was abandoned.
(Baonghean.vn) – Four days have passed, but Ms. Vo Thi H (a student at Vinh Medical University) is still in shock over the events that occurred on the evening of August 23rd.
According to Ms. H's account, at around 4 PM on August 23rd, she and her friend, also a student at Vinh Medical University, were leaving a practical training session at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital when they encountered a woman in her 30s wearing a blue shirt, gray shorts, and shoulder-length hair, carrying a baby girl about 6-7 months old. Seeing Ms. H, the woman pleaded with her to hold the baby, claiming she needed to go back to the hospital room to retrieve some forgotten items.

After agreeing to look after the baby while the woman returned to her room to get her belongings, Ms. H and her friend waited, but the woman still hadn't returned by 10 PM. At this point, Ms. H and her friend decided to take the baby to the Hung Dung Ward police station to report the incident. There, upon checking the belongings the stranger had left with the baby, the police discovered a piece of paper with the date "January 11, 2016 (lunar calendar)" and some fresh milk.
Following the incident, the Hung Dung ward police recorded a report and broadcast an announcement on the ward's public address system, but the woman has yet to return to claim her child. Many residents who learned of the situation have expressed interest in adopting the baby, but the ward police are awaiting verification. Ms. Hoang Oanh, a civil registration officer at the Hung Dung ward People's Committee, said: "In recent years, there have been quite a few cases of abandoned babies reported to the ward by residents. Regarding the case of the abandoned baby girl on August 23rd, many people have contacted us to offer to adopt her, but the police are currently handling the case for further investigation."
