(Baonghean.vn) - The Bodhidharma statue at Lam Son Pagoda (Quynh Yen Commune, Quynh Luu District) is 3.8m high, more than 2m wide, and weighs about 3.5 tons, setting a record as the largest statue carved from ironwood in Vietnam, up to the present time.

The abbot of Lam Son Pagoda - Venerable Thich Quang Van said that this Bodhidharma statue was donated to the pagoda by Mr. Hoang Van Long (Quynh Yen commune) at the end of November 2015. The statue was made from a solid block of nu nghien wood brought from Laos and artisans in Dong Anh district (Hanoi) were hired to create it within 6 months. |
