According to the BBC, villagers in Habiganj district, Bangladesh, gathered in a cafe in Dhol village to watch the fantasy film Kiranmala. However, when someone started arguing about the film's content, hundreds of others also split into factions, engaging in heated verbal exchanges. The quarrel quickly escalated as those involved resorted to using sticks and knives to attack each other.

Police had to fire tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the crowd.
Kiranmala, a fantasy film about a female warrior saving humanity from demons, is currently very popular with audiences in Bangladesh.

Local police chief Yasinul Haque said: "Initially, only two people were arguing about the episode being shown. Then the argument turned into a fight. Hundreds of people were fighting with knives and sticks."
"Police fired nine rubber bullets and used tear gas to disperse the crowd."
Some sources claim at least 100 people were injured, while local police say at least 15 were seriously injured.
According to Mr. Haque, the brawl began on the night of August 17th and continued until the morning of August 18th.

Although produced in India, Kiranmala has become even more popular in Bangladesh and has driven many audiences there wild.
Last year, local media reported that two young girls in Bangladesh committed suicide after their parents refused to buy them the dress worn by the female warrior in the movie.
