Young man burned to death after smoking after refueling.

About 5 meters away from the gas station, the young man was engulfed in flames as he lit a cigarette.

On the morning of September 4th, a 22-year-old man got gasoline on his pants while refueling at a gas station in Hoa Binh ward, Bien Hoa city (Dong Nai province). After paying, he went a short distance to light a cigarette, and suddenly flames engulfed his entire body.

Danger warnings at gas stations

Gas station employees and bystanders used fire extinguishers to put out the fire and took the victim to the hospital. "He had just left the gas station, about 5 meters away, when flames engulfed him and his vehicle. After the fire was extinguished, the victim was quite conscious," a witness recounted.

The hospital reported that the victim suffered second- and third-degree burns to approximately 70% of his body. After receiving first aid, the young man was transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for further treatment.

The incident is currently being investigated by the authorities.
