President Tran Dai Quang met with representatives from 17 religious organizations.

Speaking at the event, President Tran Dai Quang urged Party committees and authorities at all levels to strengthen propaganda, guidance, and assistance to religious followers and dignitaries to enhance their vigilance, proactively prevent and thwart the schemes and activities of hostile and reactionary forces that exploit religion to undermine the revolutionary cause of our people.

Over the years, thanks to the attention of the Party, the State, and Party committees and authorities at all levels, the material and spiritual lives of people of all religions have improved significantly. Many believers, religious leaders, and officials have become exemplary role models in labor, production, poverty alleviation, and the fight against crime and social evils. This has contributed to the economic, cultural, and social development, and the maintenance of political security, order, and social safety in the area.

These results affirm the correct and consistent policies of the Party and State on religion and religious affairs. Along with this, people of all religions have upheld the tradition of patriotism, closely associated with and accompanied the nation, making positive contributions to the cause of national construction and defense. Religions in Vietnam have developed paths of practice closely linked to the nation, such as: "Buddhism - Nation - Socialism" of Buddhism; "Living the Gospel in the heart of the nation" of Catholicism; "Living the Gospel to serve God, serving the Fatherland and the nation" of Protestantism; "National glory, religious enlightenment" of Cao Dai; "For the Dharma, for the nation" of Hoa Hao Buddhism..., uniting a large number of followers in the great national unity, contributing to building a prosperous and beautiful homeland.

Therefore, religious activities and religious affairs must aim to strengthen the unity of people of all religions within the great national unity bloc, promote the combined strength of the entire nation, and successfully carry out the cause of building and defending the Fatherland for the goal of a prosperous people, a strong nation, democracy, fairness, and civilization.

President Tran Dai Quang proposed: “Party committees and governments at all levels should strengthen the dissemination and implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws on religion; educate on patriotic traditions, the awareness of protecting the independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the sacred Fatherland, making religions closely connected with the nation, the country, and socialism, uniting and harmonizing religions with the entire people to enthusiastically compete in building, protecting, and developing the country.”

The Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Government's Religious Affairs Committee, people's organizations, and social organizations should strengthen efforts to encourage religious followers and dignitaries to integrate into the community and actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, especially the "National Unity for Building New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" campaign. At the same time, they should respect and honor the contributions of religious leaders and followers, promptly commend exemplary individuals and good deeds, and replicate advanced models in implementing religious policies, developing the economy, culture, and society, and protecting security and order in the area.
