Speaking here, President Tran Dai Quang requested Party committees and authorities at all levels to strengthen propaganda, guidance and help religious followers and dignitaries raise their vigilance, proactively prevent and fight to defeat plots and activities of hostile and reactionary forces that take advantage of religion to sabotage the revolutionary cause of our people.

In recent years, with the attention of the Party, the State, the Party committees and authorities at all levels, the material and spiritual life of religious people has been increasingly improved; many followers, dignitaries and officials have become typical examples of progress in labor, production, hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and the fight against crime and social evils. Thereby contributing to the development of the economy, culture and society, maintaining political security, order and social safety in the area.

These results have affirmed the correct and consistent policies of the Party and State on religion and religious affairs. Along with that, religious followers have promoted the tradition of patriotism, attachment and companionship with the nation, making positive contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Religions in Vietnam have built a religious practice orientation closely linked to the nation, such as: "Religion - Nation - Socialism" of Buddhism; "Living the gospel in the heart of the nation" of Catholicism; "Living the gospel to serve God, the Fatherland and the nation" of Protestantism; "Glory to the country, bright religion" of Cao Dai; "For the Dharma, for the nation" of Hoa Hao Buddhism..., gathering a large number of followers in the great national solidarity bloc, contributing to building a rich and beautiful homeland and country.

Speaking at the reception, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Tran Dai Quang respectfully acknowledged, appreciated and commended the contributions of religious people in the cause of national construction and defense.

President Tran Dai Quang stated that in the coming time, our country will continue to comprehensively and synchronously promote the renovation process, carry out industrialization, modernization, and international integration, striving to soon turn our country into a modern industrialized country. Therefore, religious activities and religious work must aim to strengthen solidarity among religious compatriots in the great national unity bloc, promote the combined strength of the entire nation, and successfully carry out the cause of building and defending the Fatherland for the goal of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization.

The President hopes that religions should continue to promote their positive aspects, humanistic values, and religious ethics to contribute to building a healthy and good lifestyle, strengthening the great national unity bloc, and mobilizing followers to fulfill their civic duties, actively participate in economic, cultural, and social development, and protect security and order in the locality.

President Tran Dai Quang suggested: “Party committees and authorities at all levels should step up propaganda, dissemination and full implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws on religion; educate the tradition of patriotism, awareness of protecting the independence, sovereignty, unity and sacred territorial integrity of the Fatherland, making religions closely connected with the nation, the country and socialism, uniting religions and the entire people to enthusiastically compete to build, protect and develop the country.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, mass organizations, and social organizations should strengthen the mobilization of religious followers and dignitaries to integrate with the community, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, especially the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas"; At the same time, respect and honor the contributions of dignitaries and followers, promptly commend good people and good deeds, and promote advanced models in implementing religious policies, developing the economy, culture, society, and protecting security and order in the area.
