Da Nang City Police have decided to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and arrest the couple Phan Tan Huong (born in 1987) and Do Thi Lan (born in 1986, residing in Hoa An ward, Cam Le district, Da Nang city) for theft of property.

Through local reconnaissance, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police Department has obtained information that recently a series of expensive motorbikes such as Dream, Wave, Air Blade, Lead… have been stolen by thieves in Da Nang City. What is quite special is that the stolen motorbikes quickly “evaporated” out of Da Nang City in a mysterious way.

During the investigation, which focused on monitoring the activities of subjects with criminal records and signs of suspected property theft, the Criminal Police Department discovered a ring of expensive motorbike thefts from Da Nang City to Ho Chi Minh City for sale. From the information collected, the detectives also clarified that the mastermind and leader of this ring was Ha Thanh Tung (1975, residing in Ward 1, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City), a subject who is wanted nationwide by the Da Nang City Police Department for property theft. Tung "sent a message" to subjects specializing in motorbike theft in Da Nang that he would buy genuine Honda motorbikes at high prices. If he stole a motorbike, just contact Tung and someone will come to pick up the motorbike and deliver the money.

Da Nang City Police identified this as a large-scale theft ring, so they established the 316T Task Force to hunt down the suspects. From the daring thefts, the suspects gradually revealed themselves. The suspicion is that many victims often see a couple with many mysterious actions appearing at the locations where their vehicles were stolen. That couple is none other than Phan Tan Huong and Do Thi Lan.

Ms. Hue had just parked the scooter to go into the store to buy something, in a blink of an eye, Lan broke the lock, then gave it to her husband to transport and to Ho Chi Minh City for Tung. Also with the trick of pretending to go for a walk, this subject stole the scooter with license plate: 78F1-109.19 of Mr. Nguyen Tan Thanh...

The investigation team determined that the most important clue in the case was the “boss” Ha Thanh Tung. From the truck with fake license plates carrying a series of stolen motorbikes by Huong and her husband, the detectives found Tung’s den in a small alley on An Duong Vuong Street, Ho Chi Minh City.

Deciding to close the entire nest, the two subjects who played an effective role in helping the Huong-Lan-Tung trio sell stolen vehicles, Le Dinh Nhan (born in 1990, residing in Thac Gian ward) and Truong Minh Thien (born in 1992, residing in Vinh Trung ward, Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city) were also closely monitored. These are the two subjects who specialize in transporting stolen vehicles from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City for Tung, each successfully transported vehicle will be paid from 500-700 thousand VND.

Deciding to crack the case, on April 7, when Nhan and Thien were transporting goods for Tung, they were caught red-handed by detectives. Faced with undeniable evidence, Tung admitted all his actions. Tung confessed that in a short time, he had received nearly 70 expensive motorbikes, mainly SH and Led motorbikes, from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City to sell to others, illegally earning hundreds of millions of dong.

After capturing the “boss” Ha Thanh Tung, exploiting hot information, seeing that there was enough evidence to arrest the couple Phan Tan Huong and Do Thi Lan, two reconnaissance teams followed the subjects. Right when Huong and his wife were preparing to perform the old trick, they were caught red-handed.
