The dream of going to school for two orphaned boys.
(Baonghean.vn) - The family of Mr. Ho Sy Loi and Ms. Phan Thi Hoang in Block 9, Mai Hung Ward (Hoang Mai town) has three children. But cruel fate intervened; before the children were old enough to fully comprehend the pain of losing their mother, they lost their father in 2006.
The first child was Ho Thi Loan (born in 1999); in 2000 and 2001, Ho Sy Chien and Ho Sy Thang were born. In 2002, when Thang was not yet one year old, Ms. Hoang suddenly passed away in an accident, leaving behind three young children who were hungry for milk and deprived of love. Enduring the grief, Mr. Loi became both father and mother to care for the children. Some time later, Mr. Loi passed away after a serious illness, leaving the three orphaned children without a place to live.

Out of compassion for the young children who had lost both their parents at a young age, their aunt, Ho Thi Thuong, took them in. In their rural area, income depended solely on a small plot of land and the money the aunt earned from odd jobs, making life extremely difficult for the four of them. Furthermore, Thuong was not as quick-witted as others, so even at a young age, the three sisters had to take care of themselves.
Outside of school hours, the children help their teacher with housework and farming. Due to extreme poverty, Loan had to drop out of school after 9th grade and go to the South to work. Because she was underage, she couldn't get a job at a company and could only work as a hired hand for 2 million dong per month. That meager income was barely enough to support herself, so she couldn't help her teacher and siblings at home. Despite lacking the care and guidance of their parents, both Chien and Thang are very well-behaved and studious, achieving the title of advanced student every year.
However, misfortune didn't stop there for the three sisters. While Loan was diagnosed with a goiter and, due to poverty, couldn't afford treatment, she had to live with the disease; Chiến's body was covered in swollen lymph nodes, pressing on nerves and causing frequent numbness in his arms, making it impossible for him to hold heavy objects. Ms. Thương took him to hospitals from Vinh to Hanoi for examination, but they couldn't afford treatment. All the burden fell on the frail shoulders of their nearly 60-year-old aunt, who was often ill.

Despite her hardships and illnesses, Ms. Thuong always wished that her grandchildren could continue to go to school and study hard so that they would have a less difficult life in the future. Every year at the beginning of the school year, the worry about school fees is etched deeply into her weathered face.
Currently, Chien is in 11th grade, and Thang is in 10th grade at Hoang Mai High School. Chien said that he really wants to go to university in the future, but it will probably be difficult because his family is too poor and his health is weak, so he doesn't know if he can keep up. Perhaps after finishing high school, he will go to work so that Thang can continue his education.
The circumstances of Chiến and Thắng urgently require the help of kind-hearted people so that they can continue to go to school and fulfill their dreams.
