(Baonghean.vn) - The family of Mr. Ho Sy Loi and Ms. Phan Thi Hoang in block 9, Mai Hung ward (Hoang Mai town) have 3 children. But fate was cruel, when the children were not old enough to feel the pain of losing their mother, in 2006 they lost their father.

The first child is Ho Thi Loan (born in 1999); in 2000 and 2001, two children, Ho Sy Chien and Ho Sy Thang, were born. In 2002, when Thang was less than 1 year old, Ms. Hoang suddenly passed away in an accident, leaving behind three young children who were thirsty for milk and lacking love. Suppressing the pain, Mr. Loi was both father and mother to take care of the children. Some time later, Mr. Loi passed away after a serious illness, leaving behind three orphaned children with no one to depend on.

Feeling sorry for the children who were orphaned at such a young age, their aunt, Ho Thi Thuong, took them in and raised them. In the countryside, their income only depended on 7 meters of land and her earnings from working for hire, so the life of the four aunts and nieces was extremely difficult. Aunt Thuong was not as agile as others, so even though they were young, the three sisters had to take care of themselves.

After school hours, the children help her with housework and farming. Due to poverty, after finishing 9th grade, Loan had to drop out of school and go to the South to work for hire. Because she was not old enough to work, she could not get a job at a company and only worked outside with a salary of 2 million VND/month. That small salary was only enough to support herself, so she could not help her and her siblings at home. Despite lacking the care and education of their parents, both Chien and Thang were very obedient, studious, and achieved excellent student status every year.

However, the misfortune did not stop for the three sisters. While Loan was diagnosed with goiter, and was poor and had no money for treatment, she had to live with the disease; Chien had lymph nodes all over his body, pressing on his nerves, causing his arms to be frequently paralyzed, unable to lift heavy objects. Aunt Thuong took him to all the hospitals from Vinh to Hanoi for examination, but could not afford treatment because she had no money. All the burden fell on the weak shoulders of her aunt, who was nearly 60 years old and often sick.

Despite the hardships and illnesses, Ms. Thuong still wishes her children to continue going to school and study hard so that they will have less hardship in the future. At the beginning of each school year, the worry about the school fees is etched on her haggard face.

Currently, Chien is in grade 11, and Thang is in grade 10, at Hoang Mai High School. Chien said that he really wants to go to university in the future, but it will probably be difficult because his family is too poor, and his health is weak, so he doesn't know if he can keep up. Perhaps after finishing high school, he will go to work so that Thang can continue to go to school.

Chien and Thang's situation really needs the help of kind-hearted people to help them continue to go to school and fulfill their dreams.
