Disciplinary action taken against traffic inspectors for accepting bribes.

Traffic inspector Vo Van Tu - Road Management Sub-Department II.3, Road Management Department II - has been suspended from Party membership due to his involvement in receiving "bribes" from tanker truck drivers.

In February 2015, traffic inspectors from the Department of Road Management II, in coordination with the Ha Tinh Traffic Police, apprehended a convoy of trucks carrying overloaded timber from Laos to Vietnam.

On the afternoon of October 4th, Mr. Le Ngoc Minh, Director of the Road Management Department II, Vietnam Road Administration, announced that the Party Committee's Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Road Administration had issued a decision to suspend the Party membership of Mr. Vo Van Tu (50 years old), a traffic inspector under the Road Management Sub-Department II.3, for 90 days due to suspected disciplinary violations that led to prosecution by the Ky Anh Town Police (Ha Tinh province).

In addition, the Vietnam Road Administration also revoked two transport inspection officer cards belonging to two officials, Vo Van Tu and Ho Van Thiet (35 years old, residing in Son Tan commune, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province), both of whom are traffic inspectors at the Road Management Sub-Department II.3.

"We are currently awaiting the police investigation results to determine appropriate disciplinary action and professional conduct. Our stance is to handle the matter strictly and ensure a deterrent effect on civil servants and inspectors who violate the law," Mr. Minh affirmed.

Earlier, on the morning of August 24th, traffic police officers Vo Van Tu and Ho Van Thiet stopped two tanker trucks belonging to Khai Hoan company for inspection. At that time, only one driver was able to present his vehicle documents. Tu and Thiet told the two drivers that if they offered a bribe, they would not be penalized for the traffic violation. Around 4 PM on August 24th, Tu and Thiet were caught red-handed by the police while receiving envelopes containing 5 million VND from the two tanker truck drivers to overlook their traffic violations.

Currently, the Investigation Police Department of Ky Anh town has initiated a criminal case and charged Vo Van Tu and Ho Van Thiet with "receiving bribes," while also applying bail measures to both of them.
