On the afternoon of October 4, Mr. Le Ngoc Minh - Director of the Road Management Department II, Vietnam Road Administration - said that the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee of Vietnam Road Administration issued a decision to suspend Party activities for 90 days for Mr. Vo Van Tu (50 years old), Traffic Inspector of the Road Management Department II.3, because of signs of disciplinary violations, prosecuted by the Ky Anh Town Police (Ha Tinh).
In addition, the Vietnam Road Administration also revoked two specialized traffic inspector cards of two civil servants Vo Van Tu and Ho Van Thiet (35 years old, residing in Son Tan commune, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh), both of whom are traffic inspectors of the Road Traffic Management Sub-Department II.3.
“We are currently waiting for the police to announce the results of the investigation to take disciplinary action and handle the matter professionally. Our view is to handle the matter strictly, ensuring deterrence for civil servants and inspectors who violate the law,” Mr. Minh affirmed.
Earlier, on the morning of August 24, two traffic inspectors, Vo Van Tu and Ho Van Thiet, stopped two tank trucks of Khai Hoan Enterprise for inspection. At that time, only one driver was able to present the vehicle registration. Tu and Thiet told the two drivers that if they were “compensated”, they would not be penalized for their violations. At around 4 p.m. on August 24, Tu and Thiet were caught red-handed by the police while they were receiving an envelope containing 5 million VND from the two tank truck drivers to ignore their traffic violations.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Ky Anh Town Police has initiated a case, prosecuted the accused Vo Van Tu and Ho Van Thiet for the act of "receiving bribes" and applied preventive measures to bail both of them.
