According to American military experts, the US Air Force has an aircraft with a special electronic warfare system, the EA-18G, that can counter the S-300.

A few days ago, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced to the public that Russian military forces participating in the international anti-ISIS operation in Syria would be protected by the S-300 air defense system.

This is one of the S-300 systems carrying mobile, multi-channel anti-aircraft missiles designed to destroy all modern air attack vehicles, including aircraft and strategic and tactical ballistic missiles at all altitudes and speeds, under all harsh conditions.

Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov emphasized that any missile or air attacks on territory controlled by Damascus would pose a threat to the Russian military, and without Russia's permission, they would be immediately destroyed.

Of course, this action by Russia has worried the US and the West, especially the US. Viktor Murakhovski, editor-in-chief of the magazine "Arms of the People," stated that the US will seek ways to retaliate against or limit the influence of the S-300 system in Syria. According to him, the US will use active or passive defense systems to counter the S-300. Passive defense involves interfering with the S-300's radar control system by creating jamming noise. The Americans have begun equipping their fighter jets with jamming systems by attaching containers alongside electronic warfare systems.

The U.S. Air Force has an aircraft equipped with a special electronic warfare system, the EA-18G “Growler.” This aircraft is capable of suppressing various radar systems as well as navigation systems. EA-18G “Growler” aircraft will be fitted with a high-speed data link tactical targeting system (TFT) and upgraded hardware, allowing Growlers to coordinate operations against powerful enemy air-to-air weapon systems – a growing trend worldwide.

According to Rear Admiral Mike Manazir, the U.S. Navy's Director of Aviation, the TTNT (Tactical Intelligence) system would require at least two EA-18G fighter jets high-speed link-up with each other and with a Northrop Grumman E-2D Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft to conduct analysis to remotely and accurately pinpoint the location of the threatening signaling device.

After identifying its target, the "Growler" will use the AGM-88 HARM anti-radar missile to destroy it. The AGM-88 is an anti-radar missile integrated with the US Air Force's HCSM target control system, allowing it to destroy enemy surveillance radar systems, effectively and accurately protecting US military airstrikes against enemy air defenses.

Earlier, the Pentagon announced that it would respond appropriately to Russia's deployment of the S-300 air defense system in Syria.
