100% support for glutinous corn and genetically modified corn seeds.

(Baonghean.vn) – In the 2016 winter crop season, the Yen Thanh agricultural extension station (Nghe An province) established a model of intensive cultivation of HN 88 glutinous corn on 5 hectares of double-cropped rice land in Tang Thanh commune and a 10-hectare model of intensive cultivation of the genetically modified corn variety NK 66.BT in Dong Thanh commune.

To ensure the model's effectiveness, in addition to technical training, participating households also receive 100% support for seeds and 30% for fertilizer and other supplies, with a total budget of 150 million VND.

Specifically for Tang Thanh commune, the People's Committee also allocated local budget funds to provide additional support of 150,000 VND per sao (approximately 1000 square meters) for mechanized land preparation; 20,000 VND for protection, internal irrigation, and pest and disease control. Households that lend their land receive 30,000 VND in support from the commune.

For corn cultivation, the district's agricultural extension station has guided farmers to practice intensive cultivation at high densities using the seedling method. Each plot receives a balanced application of 20 kg of phosphorus fertilizer, 7 kg of urea nitrogen fertilizer, 5 quintals of well-rotted manure, and 20 kg of lime powder to improve the soil (or 30 kg of NPK 8.10.3 compound fertilizer) applied as a base fertilizer at the beginning of the season to ensure good corn growth and development, helping farmers improve economic efficiency per unit area...
