Extracting gold from mobile phones

A group of scientists at the University of Edinburgh (UK) have just successfully developed a new method to extract gold from discarded mobile phones most effectively.

More than 300 tons of gold are used to manufacture electronic devices every year, most of which are mobile phones. Therefore, it would be a waste if this precious metal was not used when users threw it away.
