Mazda CX-3 makes its debut to Vietnamese customers.
A B-segment crossover model, a rival to the Chevrolet Trax, appeared at the Vietnam Motor Show 2016.
Along with the CX-9, the CX-3 was the centerpiece of Mazda's booth at the Vietnam Motor Show (VMS) 2016. The appearance of the CX-3 added to the CX product line that was previously lacking in Vietnam. The Mazda CX-3 competes in the same segment as the Chevrolet Trax and Ford EcoSport.

Regarding the information that the Chevrolet Trax would be sold in the Vietnamese market right after VMS 2016, a representative from Truong Hai stated that the company has no plans to bring the CX-3 to the market, and its appearance at VMS 2016 was purely for display purposes.
Developed on the platform of the new Mazda2 hatchback, the CX-3 uses Mazda's signature Kodo design language, similar to the CX-5 and CX-9. The difference from its larger sibling lies in the C-pillar, which is painted black and seamlessly integrates with the windshield. The CX-3 is 4,275 mm long, 1,765 mm wide, 1,550 mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2,570 mm.
The CX-3's interior is not much different from the Mazda2. It features the MZD Connect infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, a sporty three-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, and seats upholstered in black Lux Suede leather and fabric with contrasting red stitching.
The CX-3 displayed at VMS 2016 uses a 2-liter SkyActiv-G 4-cylinder gasoline engine, producing 156 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 204 Nm at 2,800 rpm. It has a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Safety features include collision warning systems, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, and a rearview camera.
Currently, the Mazda CX-3 is officially sold in many markets around the world, including the US, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam, which is the next country in the region. The car is available with a wide variety of color options, including 6 exterior colors and 3 interior colors, targeting young, successful customers.
