Mazda CX-3 welcomes Vietnamese customers for the first time

The B-size crossover model, a rival to the Chevrolet Trax, appeared at the 2016 Vietnam Auto Show.

Along with CX-9, CX-3 is the highlight at Mazda's booth at Vietnam Motor Show (VMS) 2016. The appearance of CX-3 is like adding a missing product category of CX line in Vietnam. Mazda CX-3 is in the same segment as Chevrolet Trax, Ford EcoSport.

Before the news that Chevrolet Trax will be sold in the Vietnamese market right after VMS 2016, Truong Hai representative said that the company has no plans to bring CX-3 to the market, its appearance at VMS 2016 is only for display purposes.

Developed on the platform of the new Mazda2 hatchback, the CX-3 uses Mazda's signature Kodo design style, similar to the CX-5 and CX-9. The difference from its predecessor lies in the C-pillar, which is painted black along the windshield. The CX-3 is 4,275 mm long, 1,765 mm wide, 1,550 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,570 mm.

The CX-3's interior is not much different from the Mazda2's. The car is equipped with the MZD Connect infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, a 3-spoke sports steering wheel, automatic air conditioning, leather seats combined with black Lux Suede fabric with contrasting red stitching.

CX-3 displayed at VMS 2016 uses a 2-liter SkyActiv-G 4-cylinder gasoline engine, 156 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, maximum torque of 204 Nm at 2,800 rpm. 6-speed automatic transmission.

Safety equipment with collision warning systems, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, and rear camera.

Currently, Mazda CX-3 is officially sold in many markets around the world such as the US, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam is the next country in the region. The car is sold with many diverse color options, including 6 exterior colors and 3 interior colors, for young and successful customers.
