On the afternoon of October 12, Captain Phan Bao Trung, head of Phu Loc Traffic Police Station (under the Thua Thien - Hue Traffic Police Department), said that he had handed over the inter-provincial property thief caught by this unit to Phu Loc District Police for further investigation according to their authority.

At around 9:30 a.m. on October 12, a traffic police task force on duty north of the Phu Gia road tunnel discovered a young man riding a SH motorbike with license plate 92B1-136.96 going from Da Nang to Hue without turning on the headlights while driving in the tunnel.

When stopped by the traffic police, this young man could not present relevant documents and used the excuse of calling his family to bring the documents and walked further and further away from the traffic police checkpoint before disappearing, leaving behind his SH motorbike.

Through contact with the professional department, the traffic police learned that the SH motorbike had just been stolen in Quang Nam.

After consulting with the command, the traffic police station set up a task force to block the road north of Hai Van Pass and a task force to block the road at km 859+500 of National Highway 1A, through Loc Dien commune, Phu Loc district, to arrest the suspect.

At 10:15 a.m. the same day, the working group led by Captain Phan Bao Trung stopped a 16-seat passenger bus traveling from South to North for inspection and discovered a suspicious young man.

When he saw the traffic police, the young man closed the car door tightly to prevent the traffic police from checking. After a while, he broke the side window, crawled through and ran away but was quickly approached by the traffic police and taken to Phu Loc police station for clarification.

At the police station, the young man gave his name as Ho Sy Cong (born in 1989), residing in Thanh Tien, Thanh Chuong, Nghe An. After being questioned, Cong revealed his true identity as a professional thief, who had come from Nghe An to the southern provinces to "practice his profession".

In addition to the SH motorbike, the police also seized three expensive cell phones, a camera and more than 20 million VND in cash, which according to Cong khai were the "results" of several thefts that were on their way to be sold.

The SH motorbike mentioned above and 7 taels of gold were openly stolen from a family in Tam Ky city.

Phu Loc District Police are detaining Cong for further investigation.
