Traffic police intercepted and apprehended a thief who stole an SH motorbike while he was fleeing.

Having identified the young man who abandoned the SH motorbike as the thief, the Phu Loc traffic police team set up roadblocks at both ends, ambushing and apprehending Ho Sy Cong as he attempted to escape by boarding a passenger bus.

On the afternoon of October 12th, Captain Phan Bao Trung, head of the Phu Loc Traffic Police Station ( thuộc Thua Thien - Hue Traffic Police Department), stated that they had handed over the suspect involved in inter-provincial property theft, apprehended by his unit, to the Phu Loc District Police for further investigation within their jurisdiction.

At approximately 9:30 AM on October 12th, a traffic police team on duty at the northern end of the Phu Gia road tunnel spotted a young man riding a Honda SH motorbike with license plate 92B1-136.96 heading from Da Nang to Hue without his headlights on while inside the tunnel.

When stopped by traffic police, the young man was unable to produce the necessary documents and claimed he needed to call a family member to bring them. He then walked away from the police checkpoint and disappeared, leaving his SH motorbike behind.

Through contact with the professional department, the traffic police learned that the SH motorbike had just been stolen in Quang Nam.

After consulting with the commanding officer, the traffic police station set up a checkpoint north of Hai Van Pass and another checkpoint at km 859+500 on National Highway 1A, in Loc Dien commune, Phu Loc district, to apprehend the suspect.

At 10:15 AM the same day, the task force led by Captain Phan Bao Trung stopped a 16-seater passenger van traveling from South to North for inspection and discovered a suspicious young man.

Upon seeing the traffic police, the young man locked the car doors, preventing them from checking. After a while, he broke the side window, climbed out, and tried to escape, but the traffic police quickly apprehended him and took him to the Phu Loc Police Station for questioning.

At the police station, the young man identified himself as Ho Sy Cong (born in 1989), residing in Thanh Tien, Thanh Chuong, Nghe An. After questioning, Cong revealed himself to be a professional thief, having traveled from Nghe An to the southern provinces to "ply his trade".

Besides the SH motorbike, the police also seized three expensive mobile phones, a camera, and over 20 million VND in cash, which, according to Cong, was the "fruits" of several thefts that were being transported for sale.

The aforementioned SH motorbike and 7 gold rings were openly stolen from a family in Tam Ky City.

The Phu Loc District Police are currently holding Cong in custody for further investigation.
