The Japanese automotive joint venture introduced the all-new generation 7-seater Fortuner SUV at the Vietnam Motor Show (VMS 2016) currently taking place in Hanoi.
Officially launched in Vietnam in February 2009, the Fortuner quickly became one of the flagship models of the Japanese automotive joint venture. For over 7 years, the Fortuner has consistently ranked among the top 10 best-selling models in the market.
According to statistics from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), total sales of the Fortuner in the Vietnamese market reached nearly 60,000 units by the end of September 2016. In the first nine months of 2016 alone, Fortuner sales reached 8,514 vehicles, a 21% increase compared to the same period in 2015.

The 2017 Fortuner measures 4,795 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width, 1,835 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. Compared to its predecessor, the new Fortuner is slightly longer and wider, while its height has been reduced to lower the center of gravity.
The interior boasts a more eye-catching appearance, with premium leather seats, a smart keyless entry and start system, a high-end touchscreen DVD system, and more.
The 2017 Fortuner, currently on display at VMS 2016, uses a 2.7-liter, inline 4-cylinder, 16-valve, DOHC, VVT-i gasoline engine. This version delivers a maximum power of 164 horsepower and a maximum torque of 245 Nm.
