Fortuner 2017 launched at VMS 2016 exhibition

Compared to the previous generation, the new generation Fortuner is slightly longer and wider while the height is slightly reduced to lower the center of gravity.

The Japanese auto joint venture introduced the all-new generation 7-seat SUV Fortuner at the Vietnam Motor Show (VMS 2016) taking place in Hanoi.

Officially present in Vietnam in February 2009, Fortuner quickly became one of the main models of the Japanese auto joint venture. For more than 7 years of presence, Fortuner has always been in the list of 10 best-selling models in the market.

According to statistics from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), the total sales volume of Fortuner in the Vietnamese market by the end of September 2016 reached nearly 60,000 units. In the first 9 months of 2016 alone, Fortuner sales volume reached 8,514 units, a 21% increase over the same period in 2015.

The exterior is more individual, angular and stronger, no longer the simple and neutral features of the previous generation. Fortuner 2017 has a length of 4,795 mm, width of 1,855 mm, height of 1,835 mm and wheelbase of 2,750 mm. Compared to the previous generation, the new generation Fortuner is slightly longer and wider while the height is slightly reduced to lower the center of gravity.

The interior has a more eye-catching appearance, with premium leather seats, smart unlocking and starting system, premium touch DVD system...

Fortuner 2017 is present at VMS 2016 using 4-cylinder inline gasoline engine, 16 valves, DOHC, VVT-i, capacity 2.7 liters. This version gives maximum capacity of 164 horsepower and maximum torque of 245 Nm.

The list of safety equipment is more extensive than the previous generation. Notably, there is the vehicle stability control system (VSC), hill-start assist control (HAC), downhill assist control (DAC), 7 airbags, cruise control and rear camera...

Currently, Toyota Vietnam has not revealed the plan to sell the new generation Fortuner on the market, including the time, how many versions and retail price. Most likely the SUV will be officially launched in the first quarter of 2017.
