(Baonghean.vn) - Using old car tires, wooden planks, bamboo sticks, etc., with their intelligence and creativity, youth union members in Tho Son commune (Anh Son district) have invented unique toys for poor children in remote villages.
| Tho Son is a disadvantaged commune in Anh Son district, where hundreds of poor students lack access to playgrounds and recreational areas. Inspired by the idea of creating a miniature playground for these underprivileged children, the Tho Son Youth Union collected various scrap materials such as tires, wooden planks, bamboo, and reeds to make useful toys for them. |
| To complete the construction of the amusement park, more than a dozen youth union members were mobilized and actively participated in the work for about a week. |
| Making toys for children requires care and meticulous attention to detail to ensure that the finished products are safe for schoolchildren. |
| The old tire was repurposed to make a seesaw. |
| With skillful hands, the youth union members transform seemingly discarded waste materials into various toys such as horses, seesaws, and chairs… ensuring safety, closeness to nature, and stimulating motor skills and creative thinking in children. |
| Poor children are excited about new toys. |
| Currently, the Thọ Sơn commune youth union has handed over 12 sets of playground equipment such as horses, seesaws, swings, seesaw bridges, etc., to 30 children in Khe Trắng Thượng village. In the future, the commune's youth union will continue to build playgrounds in other locations. |
| According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Ha, Secretary of the Anh Son District Youth Union: Implementing the plan to build playgrounds for children, Anh Son district has directed local youth union branches and schools to survey and build suitable locations. Depending on the actual situation, units proactively select and design playground equipment using recycled materials and natural products such as bamboo and rattan. Currently, Anh Son district has successfully implemented this project in two communes, Tho Son and Binh Son. After the playgrounds are installed, youth union members are responsible for coordinating with village and hamlet management boards to maintain them and create conditions for organizing activities that attract children to participate in beneficial recreation. |
