"If cadres and party members lose their ideals, the consequences will be enormous."

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quoc Bao: If a party member holding a position of power loses their ideals and deviates from their ideal goals, the consequences will be immeasurable.

We agree with the issuance of the Resolution on strengthening Party building and rectification; preventing and repelling the decline in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle, and the manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party. Cadres, Party members, and the people welcome the decisive leadership of the Central Committee.

This demonstrates a commitment to "matching words with actions" through concrete deeds. At the same time, the people are eagerly awaiting the issuance of the Resolution, which will restore discipline within the Party.

Hội nghị Trung ương 4, khóa XII
Fourth Central Committee Meeting, 12th term

In the Central Committee Resolution No. 3 of the 10th Party Congress, the Central Committee Resolution No. 4 of the 11th Party Congress, and now the Central Committee Resolution No. 4 of the 12th Party Congress, we have all focused on the issue of Party building.

This affirms the Central Committee's determination to intensify the fight against corruption within the Party and to build a truly clean and strong Party, and to build a contingent of Party members worthy of the trust and prestige of the Party in leading the people and leading the cause of reform.

Cadres, Party members, and the people believe that if rectification, self-criticism, criticism, and self-examination are not carried out thoroughly, the Party organization will find it difficult to be strong. If the Party is not strong, it cannot lead the country. Therefore, rectification is necessary and must be effective, creating trust among the people.

Concerned about setting a good example to keep the Party clean and strong, Mr. Nguyen Kim Huy from Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province, said: “The people want the Party to be truly strong and clean, not just talk. As high-ranking Party leaders have said, a significant number of officials are involved in corruption. It can be said that the people are in a state of mixed feelings, both trusting and loving the Party, and feeling pain when some Party members are not exemplary. The people are eagerly awaiting the restoration of discipline within the Party.”

The people are not only proud of the Party but also have great faith in it. Therefore, in order to continuously consolidate and strengthen the people's trust, after the Central Committee issued the Resolution on strengthening Party building and rectification; preventing and repelling the decline in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle, and the manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party, the Party must continue to build and rectify in all aspects.

Mr. Pham Manh Hung (Nghia Do ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi) stated: The Party has made very frank assessments when it said that the decline in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle has both objective and subjective causes, with subjective causes being the main ones, stemming from the fact that cadres and Party members themselves lack self-cultivation and training; their ideological stance is not firm; they fall into individualism, forgetting their responsibilities and duties to the Party and the people.

"I think one of the reasons why Party building work is not being done well is that the moral qualities of Party members are not being strengthened or tempered. This time, the Central Committee continues to emphasize that Party building is extremely important. The time has come when, if this work is not done well, it will affect the survival of the country and the Party's leadership over the country. I think this is a very important and urgent issue," said Mr. Pham Manh Hung.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Bao

To effectively implement Resolution No. 4 of the 12th Central Committee, Associate Professor and Doctor Nguyen Quoc Bao, Senior Lecturer at the Hanoi Academy of Journalism and Communication, stated that political and ideological education, self-criticism, and criticism are central, overarching tasks and the most important solutions. Recalling President Ho Chi Minh's teaching that while the Party is in power, Party members must not stray from their goals and ideals, Associate Professor Nguyen Quoc Bao argued that during the arduous revolutionary war for national liberation, Party members always demonstrated their role. This was because their ideals were very clear and pure, and they sacrificed everything for the cause of national independence and freedom. It is for this reason that the Party successfully led the revolutionary cause.

Concerned about party members holding positions of power, and fearing the immeasurable consequences if their ideals fade or they stray from their ideal goals, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quoc Bao stated: “The first and foremost solution concerns ideals and political awareness, especially in the current context of integration. The negative aspects of the market economy include individualism, selfish lifestyles, self-interest, chasing after money, fame, titles, and power. These are what lead to the corruption of party members and officials if they lack firm principles, integrity, and the cultivation of their political ideals.”

President Ho Chi Minh emphasized: "The Party has no interests other than the interests of the people" and "The Party must lead by example." The expectation for reform and the issuance of the Resolution is timely. However, each Party organization, each cadre and Party member, especially senior and key officials, and leaders at all levels and in all sectors, must deeply and fully understand their responsibilities to the people and the Party in order to consciously implement them. This is also what the people hope for in order to restore discipline within the Party.
