(Baonghean.vn) - The antique auction to raise funds is a prominent activity of the members of the Song Lam Antiques Association in response to Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2005 - November 23, 2016).
The auction was held at the Song Lam Antiques Association, the “common home” of Nghe An antiques enthusiasts. Taking place on a special day, the auction was not only an opportunity for members to meet, share, exchange, and review the association’s activities over the past year. It was also an opportunity to display and introduce valuable artifacts that members have painstakingly collected and preserved. |
The auction market was an idea formed after the Song Lam Antiques Association was established. In the early days, due to lack of a location, the market was only held once a week at a small stall along Le Mao Street. In the past two years, with the desire to have a gathering place, Mr. Ho Manh Toan, a member of the Association, invested his own money to build the Antiques Association and turned it into a place to display rare and precious artifacts. |
The antiques brought to the fair were collected by members in Nghe An with many different materials such as pottery, porcelain, bronze, wood... |
Each item auctioned is a work of art. |
The artifacts are carefully cherished and cared for by their owners. |

Attending the fair to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day, there were hundreds of artifacts brought by members of the association. However, the organizing committee only selected 5 most valuable items for everyone to bid on. What is special is that these are all precious artifacts originating from Vietnam, namely a Tran Dynasty ceramic plate, a Le Dynasty ceramic plate, a Nguyen Dynasty jade plate, and a Nguyen Dynasty bronze betel box. The starting price of the artifacts is from 900,000 - 5,000,000 VND. All proceeds from the auction will be used to raise funds for charity activities organized by the Lam River Antiques Association. |
Speaking more about the significance of the program, Mr. Pham Van Thanh, Chairman of the Song Lam Antiques Association, said: Although the scale of the organization is not large, the members of the Association are very excited about these activities. We believe that the significance of the fair is not only in each successful auction, but also in honoring precious artifacts, contributing to preserving and conserving the traditional values of the nation. |
