The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee celebrates the solidarity festival with the people of Xieng village.

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of November 11th, Mr. Nguyen Van Thong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, joined the people of Xieng village, Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district in celebrating the Great Unity Festival.

Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Con Cuong District Party Committee; Vuong Quang Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, along with a large number of people from Xieng village.

The people of Xieng village celebrated the Great Unity Festival with cultural performances showcasing their unique ethnic identity.

The village of Xieng currently has 172 households with 794 inhabitants, 98% of whom are ethnic Thai people. Over the years, fostering a spirit of solidarity, the villagers have participated in economic development, rising out of poverty. The poverty rate decreased from 50.54% in 2015 to 34.7% in 2016. Currently, there are 12 households in the village that are successful in production and business, earning stable incomes ranging from 50 to 200 million VND per year.

Thanks to the movement for national unity and effective, practical actions, Xieng village has maintained its title as a Cultural Village for the past 15 years. In addition, it has completed 12 out of 15 criteria for building a new rural area.

Comrade Nguyen Van Thong commended the achievements of the people of Xieng village.

In the joyful atmosphere of the festival, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the achievements that the people of Xieng village have strived to achieve in the past time. In particular, in the movement to build new rural areas, the people have contributed over 1,344 man-days of labor, contributed sand and gravel to complete 1,500 meters of internal field roads, and donated more than 4,500 meters of land.²land for roads…

Based on the achievements, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong hopes that the people of Xieng village will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, work together to build local movements, and contribute to improving their material and spiritual lives.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a solidarity house for Mr. Vi Văn Minh's family.

On this occasion, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee presented 13 gifts to 13 poor households in the village and attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a solidarity house for Mr. Vi Văn Minh's family, a household with particularly difficult circumstances in Xiềng village.
