Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee happily celebrated the solidarity festival with the people of Xieng village

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of November 11, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee came to celebrate the Great Unity Day with the people of Xieng village, Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district.

Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Secretary of Con Cuong District Party Committee; Vuong Quang Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and a large number of people from Xieng village.

Xieng villagers celebrate the Great Unity Day with performances imbued with national identity.

Xieng village currently has 172 households with 794 people, of which 98% are Thai ethnic people. In recent years, promoting the spirit of solidarity, the people here have participated in economic development, rising out of poverty, the poverty rate decreased from 50.54% in 2015 to 34.7% in 2016. Currently, in the village there are 12 households with good production and business, with a stable income of 50 - 200 million VND/year.

From the movement of great solidarity among ethnic groups, with effective and practical actions, Xieng village has maintained the title of Cultural Village for the past 15 years. Along with that, it has completed 12/15 criteria for building new rural areas.

Comrade Nguyen Van Thong praised the achievements of Xieng villagers.

In the joyful atmosphere of the festival, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the achievements that the people of Xieng village have strived to achieve in the past time. In particular, in the new rural construction movement, the people have donated over 1,344 working days, contributed sand and gravel to complete 1,500 m of internal traffic and donated more than 4,500 m²land for road construction

Comrade Nguyen Van Thong presented the painting "Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton" to the people of Xieng village.

Comrade Nguyen Van Thong gave gifts to poor households in the village.

Based on the achieved results, comrade Nguyen Van Thong hopes that the people of Xieng village will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, together build local movements, contributing to improving material and spiritual life.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a solidarity house for Mr. Vi Van Minh's family.

On this occasion, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee presented 13 gifts to 13 poor households in the village and attended the groundbreaking ceremony to build a solidarity house for Mr. Vi Van Minh's family, a household with especially difficult circumstances in Xieng village.
