Cold air brings freezing temperatures to the North and rain to the Central region.

According to the Central Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting Center, on the afternoon of November 21, a cold front from the North continued to move southward and will affect the northern provinces from November 23.

Later, the cold air mass affected the North and some parts of central Vietnam.

Due to the influence of a cold front, scattered rain is expected in Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa province from the afternoon of November 23rd. From November 24th, rain, moderate rain, and in some places heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms are expected in the provinces from Nghe An to Thua Thien Hue. Winds will shift to northeasterly, with speeds of level 3 inland and level 4-5 along the coast.

From the afternoon of November 23rd, strong northeasterly winds of force 6-7, gusting to force 8-9, will prevail in the Gulf of Tonkin and the northern South China Sea (including the waters around the Hoang Sa archipelago). The sea will be rough, with waves 2-4 meters high.

From the night of November 23rd, the weather in the northern provinces turned cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold with lowest temperatures generally ranging from 14-17 degrees Celsius, 12-15 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas, and below 11 degrees Celsius in high mountainous areas.

In the Hanoi area, it will rain from the night of November 23rd, and the weather will turn cold with the lowest temperatures generally ranging from 15 to 16 degrees Celsius.

According to experts from the meteorological forecasting agency, this is the second cold spell of the 2016-2017 winter season and is of similar intensity to the first cold spell of the winter season, caused by the cold air mass that swept into our country on November 8th.

From November 23rd to 25th, it will be cloudy with rain, but there is a possibility of sunshine on November 26th and 27th, so it will mainly be cold at night and in the morning.
