Borrowing a friend's car and pawning it results in a 15-month prison sentence.

(Baonghean.vn) - Hai drove Linh to pawn a borrowed electric motorbike for 3 million VND. The two used the money to play games and for other expenses.

On November 29th, the People's Court of Do Luong District held a first-instance trial to hear the case against Nguyen Luong Hai (born in 1996) and Nguyen Canh Linh (born in 1997), both residing in Block 5, Do Luong Town, Do Luong District, for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

According to the indictment from the Prosecutor's Office, at approximately 2 PM on August 19, 2016, in Block 8, Do Luong town, Nguyen Luong Hai and Nguyen Canh Linh borrowed a black LUCK OSAKA electric motorbike with license plate 37MD-52276 from Tran Van Dat (born in 2001), which was valued at 6.5 million VND at the time.

After borrowing the motorbike, Hai and Linh pawned it for 3 million VND. With the money, they invited a friend to play games with them and took a taxi to Anh Son district to have fun, spending all the money.

The court sentenced Nguyen Luong Hai to 6 months in prison and Nguyen Canh Linh to 9 months in prison. Linh must serve an additional 4 months in prison because he had previously been sentenced to 4 months in prison for "illegal detention".
