Borrowed a friend's car to pawn, sentenced to 15 months in prison

(Baonghean.vn) - Hai took Linh to pawn an electric motorbike borrowed from a friend for 3 million VND. The two used that money to play games and spend.

On November 29, Do Luong District People's Court opened the first instance trial of Nguyen Luong Hai (born 1996) and Nguyen Canh Linh (born 1997), both residing in Block 5, Do Luong Town, Do Luong District, for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

According to the indictment of the Procuracy, at about 2:00 p.m. on August 19, 2016, in block 8, Do Luong town, Nguyen Luong Hai and Nguyen Canh Linh borrowed a black electric motorbike with license plate 37MD-52276, LUCK, OSAKA brand from Tran Van Dat (born in 2001), the motorbike is currently worth 6.5 million VND.

After borrowing the motorbike, Hai and Linh pawned it for 3 million VND. After receiving the money, the two invited their friends to play games and took a taxi to Anh Son district to hang out and spent all the money.

The panel sentenced Nguyen Luong Hai to 6 months in prison and Nguyen Canh Linh to 9 months in prison. Linh must serve an additional 4 months in prison because he was previously sentenced to 4 months in prison for “Illegal detention”.
