With AWD, the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT has a clear advantage over its rivals, the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro.

In terms of sales, the Dodge Challenger clearly cannot compete with its two arch-rivals, the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro, in the "muscle car" segment. However, the Dodge Challenger is still a "muscle car" that is very popular in the US in particular and around the world in general.

To increase the appeal of this "muscle car" line, Dodge has added a new version called Challenger GT 2017. Compared to its two "compatriots" Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger GT 2017 has an undeniable strength, which is the full-time 4-wheel drive system.

It can be said that the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT is the first 2-door American "muscle car" equipped with a full-time 4-wheel drive system. Thanks to that, "muscle car" enthusiasts can feel secure moving on any road, especially when winter has come.

The 2017 Dodge Challenger GT's all-wheel drive system is borrowed from its Charger AWD sibling. This system can switch from 1 to 2-wheel drive and vice versa without driver intervention.

Under normal driving conditions, the front axle of the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT will not be used. Thanks to that, the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT will drive like a rear-wheel drive car.

In addition, the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT also has a 3-mode electronic balance system. In which, there is a "full-off" mode specifically for drifting.

Under the hood of the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 gasoline engine, producing a maximum capacity of 305 horsepower at 6,350 rpm and a maximum torque of 363 Nm at 4,800 rpm. According to Dodge, the engine can reach 90% of its maximum torque in the rpm range from 1,800 - 4,600 rpm.

The engine is mated to an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The steering wheel has integrated sport shift paddles. Unfortunately, the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT does not have a V8 engine or a manual transmission.

Standard equipment on the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT includes 19-inch Hyper Black wheels, projector headlights, a rear spoiler, rear ParkSense parking sensors and a rearview camera.

Meanwhile, the interior comes with Nappa leather seats, heated and ventilated front seats, an electric and heated steering wheel, an infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a 6-speaker Alpine sound system and a 276W amplifier. The instrument cluster also has a customizable 7-inch screen.

The price of the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT has not yet been announced.
