Man City welcomes new signing worth $33.3 million.
The Etihad Stadium club has finalized the work permit application so that Gabriel Jesus can be available to play against Tottenham this weekend.
Man City signed Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras in the summer of 2016 for $33.3 million, but left the 19-year-old striker at the Brazilian club for another six months on loan.
It wasn't until January 3rd that Jesus joined Manchester City for training, but he couldn't play for his new team yet because he hadn't obtained a work permit and completed other administrative procedures. With those procedures finalized yesterday, January 19th, Coach Guardiola can now use the young Brazilian star for the match against Manchester City at 00:30 on Sunday, January 22nd (Hanoi time).
"I've watched the Premier League and seen how intense and competitive the football is here. I hope I can adapt as quickly as possible. I will do my best to adapt," Jesus said at his unveiling.

Man City is only Jesus' second club in his professional career and his first foreign club. But Jesus insists he is not afraid of the sudden change of environment.
"I'm not afraid at all to be given an opportunity like this to change my life. Coming here, I also have more challenges and opportunities to change my family's life, and to bring them those opportunities, I'm not afraid of anything," he added.
Man City struggled to sign Jesus, facing competition from numerous European giants such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, and Manchester United.
After joining Manchester City, Gabriel's career exploded. He was a crucial source of inspiration, with a series of brilliant performances that helped Palmeiras win the Brazilian championship for the first time since 1994, while he himself won the Ballon d'Or, the award for the best player of the season.

During his loan spell at Palmeiras from Man City, Gabriel was called up to the Brazilian national team and quickly shone.
He was a key player for the Brazilian Olympic team that won the gold medal in men's football at the Olympic Games for the first time in history. And in the national team, Gabriel made his debut on September 1st and immediately scored a brace, contributing to Brazil's 3-0 victory in Quito against Ecuador.
By the end of 2016, Gabriel had played six matches for the Brazilian national team and scored five goals. That impressive form helped Brazil climb to the top of their South American qualifying group for the 2018 World Cup.
