Timely payment of pensions and social insurance benefits before the Lunar New Year.

(Baonghean) - Implementing the Central Party Secretariat's Directive on organizing Tet 2017 and the guidance of the Vietnam Social Insurance, Nghe An Social Insurance has promptly planned to organize the simultaneous payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2017 during the January 2017 payment period, contributing to bringing spring early to everyone and every family.

Since December 2016, Nghe An Social Insurance has planned to organize the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2017 throughout the province. The total amount to be paid is over 1,200 billion VND.

According to the plan, payments will be completed before January 12th (the 15th day of the 12th lunar month) so that beneficiaries of social insurance can receive their benefits.

Mr. Le Viet Thuc - Head of the Planning and Finance Department - Nghe An Social Insurance: “In order to help pensioners in the area have more financial means to shop during Tet, we have planned and coordinated with the Nghe An Provincial Post Office to develop a plan for paying pensions, social insurance benefits, and unemployment insurance benefits for January and February 2017; announced the monthly payment schedule and payment locations to beneficiaries, and simultaneously sent the payment schedule of all payment points in the area to the Provincial Social Insurance Benefits Department for coordinated implementation.”

Based on that, the Social Insurance and Post Office branches in the districts will implement the arrangement and organization of payments to beneficiaries fully, promptly, and according to plan, completing the process before the Lunar New Year of Dinh Dau 2017.”

Immediately after receiving the payment records and lists, local social insurance agencies coordinated with the Post Office to announce the payment schedule in each area. The payment schedule was arranged scientifically by the local Post Offices to avoid making people wait too long.

Mr. Bui Duc Hanh, Director of Vinh Central Post Office, said: "As the unit with the largest number of pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries in the entire province, Vinh City began paying out benefits on January 3rd."

Nghe An Social Insurance pays pensions and social insurance benefits to workers.

During the Lunar New Year of the Rooster 2017, the volume of postal and newspaper products handled and transported increased sharply, averaging twice the daily rate.

However, in order to complete the payment process and ensure the safe and timely delivery of benefits to pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries, helping them to manage their spending during the Tet holiday, we have instructed our staff to actively participate with the highest level of determination and productivity.

Therefore, no incidents occurred during the payment process, and the payments were completed before January 10, 2017.”

Thai Hoa town has over 7,300 people receiving pensions and social insurance benefits. During this period, the total amount disbursed reached 45 billion VND.

Mr. Dao Van Dan, Director of the Social Insurance Office of Thai Hoa Town, said: “To ensure timely payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2017 to beneficiaries before the Lunar New Year, the town's Social Insurance Office has proactively coordinated with the district Post Office in allocating funds and organizing payments; arranging 39 payment points spread across 10 wards and communes.”

On January 5th, the town's Post Office organized the distribution of pensions and social insurance benefits to eligible individuals at pre-announced payment points. However, many individuals living far away, the elderly, and those with disabilities who had difficulty traveling were unable to come to receive their money, so the town's Post Office staff went to their homes to make the payments. By January 10th, the town had completed the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits to all eligible individuals.

For many years, pensioners over 80 years old who are ill and unable to travel have had their payments delivered to their homes by postal workers in Thai Hoa town. Most pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries are feeling happy and excited. Receiving their benefits fully, promptly, and conveniently has allowed them to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year.

Ms. Hoang Thi Lieu, residing in Quang Phong ward, Thai Hoa town, shared: “My husband is a retired official who suffered a stroke and has been bedridden for 8 years. I take care of him alone. During Tet (Lunar New Year), work becomes even busier, but having the social insurance benefits delivered to our home by postal workers is very convenient and reassuring.”

Mr. Le Nhu Hai, a retired official in Dong Thanh hamlet, Dong Hieu commune (Thai Hoa town), said: "Before Tet, I was very worried because I hadn't received my pension yet. But today, with less than 3 weeks until Tet, I've already received 2 months' worth of pension, and I'm very happy."

The timely and accurate payment of two months' worth of pensions and social insurance benefits before the Lunar New Year has received widespread public approval and support. In particular, it has fostered trust and enthusiasm among pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries. A new spring is fast approaching, and nearly 200,000 pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries throughout the province can now celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year of the Rooster 2017 in a joyful and warm atmosphere.
