Timely payment of pensions and social insurance benefits before Lunar New Year

(Baonghean) - Implementing the Directive of the Central Secretariat on organizing Tet 2017 and the direction of Vietnam Social Security, Nghe An Social Security has soon had a plan to organize the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2017 at the same time during the January 2017 payment period, contributing to bringing spring to everyone and every home early.

Since December 2016, Nghe An Social Insurance has planned to pay pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2017 throughout the province. The total payment amount is over 1,200 billion VND.

According to the plan, the payment will be completed before January 12 (December 15) so that social insurance beneficiaries can receive the benefits.

Mr. Le Viet Thuc - Head of Financial Planning Department - Nghe An Social Insurance: "In order to help pensioners in the area have more financial conditions to shop during Tet, we have made a plan, coordinated with Nghe An Provincial Post Office to develop a plan to pay pensions, social insurance and unemployment insurance benefits for January and February 2017; announced the monthly payment schedule and payment locations to beneficiaries, and sent the payment schedule of all payment points in the area to the Provincial Social Insurance Regime Department for coordination and implementation.

On that basis, the Social Insurance and Post Offices of the districts will implement the arrangement and organization of payment to beneficiaries in full, timely and on schedule before the Lunar New Year 2017.

Immediately after receiving the documents and payment list, the local Social Insurance coordinated with the Post Office to announce the payment schedule in each locality. The payment time was arranged scientifically by the local Post Office to avoid making people wait for a long time.

Mr. Bui Duc Hanh - Director of Vinh Central Post Office said: "As the unit with the largest number of pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries in the whole province, Vinh city started paying benefits from January 3.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2017, the volume of exploitation and transportation of postal products and newspapers increased sharply, with an average increase of 2 times compared to daily.

However, to complete the payment, ensure safety and timely delivery of benefits to retirees and social insurance beneficiaries, helping them proactively spend during Tet, we have thoroughly instructed our staff and workers to actively participate with the highest spirit of determination and productivity.

Therefore, there were no problems during the payment process and the payment was completed before January 10, 2017.

Thai Hoa town has over 7,300 pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries. On this occasion, the payment amounted to 45 billion VND.

Mr. Dao Van Dan - Director of Thai Hoa Town Social Insurance said: "To ensure timely payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2017 to beneficiaries before Tet, the town Social Insurance has proactively coordinated with the District Post Office in allocating funds and organizing payments; arranging 39 payment points spread across 10 wards and communes.

On January 5, the Town Post Office distributed the money to the beneficiaries at the pre-announced payment points. However, many beneficiaries lived far away, the elderly, and the disabled had difficulty traveling and could not come to receive the money, so the Town Post Office staff went to their homes to make the payment. By January 10, the town had completed the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits to the beneficiaries.

For many years, pensioners over 80 years old and those who are sick and unable to travel have had their pensions paid at home by Thai Hoa Town Post Office staff. Most pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries are excited and enthusiastic. Receiving full, timely and convenient benefits has created conditions for them to celebrate the traditional New Year of the nation.

Ms. Hoang Thi Lieu in Quang Phong ward, Thai Hoa town confided: "My husband is a retired cadre, he had a stroke and has been bedridden for 8 years now, I am the only one taking care of him. During Tet, the work is even busier, but the post office staff brought the social insurance benefits to my house, I find it very convenient and reassuring."

Mr. Le Nhu Hai, a retired cadre in Dong Thanh hamlet, Dong Hieu commune (Thai Hoa town) said: "Before Tet, I was very worried and did not receive my pension. But today, less than 3 weeks to Tet, I have received 2 months of salary, I am very excited."

The timely payment of 2 months of pension and monthly social insurance benefits before Tet holiday, to the right beneficiaries and in accordance with policies, has received the consensus and support of the people, especially creating trust and excitement for pension and monthly social insurance beneficiaries. A new spring is coming very soon. And nearly 200,000 pension and social insurance beneficiaries in the whole province can celebrate the traditional Tet Dinh Dau 2017 in a joyful and warm atmosphere.
