More amazing features of the Su-35 super fighter

Russia's Su-35 fighter jet is equipped with a unique optical system, helping the Su-35 to be both stealthy and able to detect enemy drones, helicopters and aircraft.

According to Izvestia, to achieve the above features, Russian designers equipped the Su-35 with IRSTS OLS-35 systems that can record engine thermal changes.

The IRSTS OLS-35 system also allows for the destruction of missiles and the dropping of bombs on ground targets with high precision.

OLS-35 is based on a highly sensitive photo-video, thermal tracker that operates in any weather conditions both day and night, as well as by laser.

Lasers measure the distance to the target and create an invisible aiming point that "guides" laser-guided bombs and missiles.

The data is transmitted into the fighter's sighting system, then the on-board machinery rapidly calculates the precise parameters to destroy the intended target.

The information collected by the radar-optical system will be displayed on the screen on the aircraft's nose glass in the pilot's cabin.
