Xieng Khouang Provincial Military Command wishes Nghe An Border Guard a Happy New Year

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 18, a delegation of officers from the Military Command of Xieng Khouang Province, Lao PDR, led by Colonel Khanh Thong, Political Commissar of the Military Command of Xieng Khouang Province, visited and wished a Happy New Year to officers and soldiers of the Border Guard of Nghe An.

On this occasion, the leaders of the two sides informed each other about the outstanding achievements in socio-economic development, national defense and security of Nghe An and Xieng Khouang provinces and assessed some results achieved in the coordination work between Nghe An Border Guard and Xieng Khouang Provincial Military Command.

Notable activities include information exchange, situation exchange, and bilateral patrol coordination to protect the border and border markers; combating and preventing activities that violate territorial sovereignty; preventing and combating crimes of trafficking, use, and transportation of drugs, explosives, firecrackers, and prohibited goods across the border; propagating and mobilizing people on both sides to strictly comply with the laws and agreements, treaties, and regulations on the Vietnam-Laos border, maintaining political security, social order and safety, etc.

The leaders of the two units also exchanged information related to the border protection task and agreed that in the coming time, the armed forces of the two provinces will try harder and be more active in grasping the situation; coordinate to effectively fight and prevent all types of crimes; develop plans and options for border protection; conduct regular bilateral patrols and participate in search and rescue; propagate and educate the people of the two provinces about the special traditional friendship between the two Parties and the two countries of Vietnam and Laos; contribute to the successful implementation of the task of building and protecting a peaceful, friendly and developed border./.
