The Military Command of Xieng Khouang Province extends New Year greetings to the Border Guard of Nghe An Province.

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 18th, a delegation of officers from the Military Command of Xieng Khouang Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, led by Colonel Khanh Thong, Political Commissar of the Military Command of Xieng Khouang Province, visited and extended New Year greetings to the officers and soldiers of the Nghe An Border Guard.

On this occasion, leaders from both sides informed each other about the outstanding achievements in socio-economic development and national defense and security of Nghe An and Xieng Khouang provinces, and assessed some of the results achieved in the coordination between the Nghe An Border Guard and the Xieng Khouang Provincial Military Command.

Key areas of focus include information sharing, coordination of bilateral patrols to protect the border and boundary markers; combating and preventing activities that infringe upon territorial sovereignty; preventing and combating crimes related to the trafficking, use, and transportation of drugs, explosives, firecrackers, and prohibited goods across the border; and disseminating information and mobilizing people on both sides to comply with the law and the agreements, treaties, and regulations on the Vietnam-Laos border, maintaining political security and social order.

The leaders of the two units also exchanged information related to border protection tasks and agreed that in the coming time, the armed forces of the two provinces will strive to be more proactive in monitoring the situation; coordinating effective efforts to combat all types of crime; developing plans and strategies for border protection; conducting regular bilateral patrols and participating in search and rescue operations; disseminating information and educating the people of the two provinces about the special traditional friendship between the two Parties and the two countries of Vietnam and Laos; contributing to the successful implementation of the task of building and protecting a peaceful, friendly, and developing border.
