7 year old boy with terrible disease hopes for help

(Baonghean.vn) - Suffering from a congenital disease of not having the need to defecate, the family is too poor to have money for treatment. Although he is 7 years old, Nguyen Ba Thang's body, in hamlet 12, Quynh Thach commune (Quynh Luu), is stunted, and his belly is getting bigger and bigger.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung (41 years old) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen (43 years old) have 4 children. Thang is the third child in the family. After Thang, there is a twin brother. After 3 days of birth, Thang still could not defecate, so his family took him to the hospital. After examination and monitoring, the doctor concluded that Thang had congenital constipation and transferred him to the National Children's Hospital for treatment.

Because of the family's difficult circumstances, instead of transferring to a treatment facility, Mr. Hung and his wife had to take their child home and help him "go to the toilet" by using an enema. Each time Thang was given an enema, he could only "go" a little bit. With this disease, if not treated with an enema, even if it takes 5 or 10 days, the child will not have the need to defecate.

Seven years have passed, the terrible disease has made Thang's body weak, weighing only 19 kg, with a belly bigger than a person. Thang always feels full and bloated, so at each meal, he has to try very hard to eat half a bowl of rice.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung was born with a disability due to Agent Orange poisoning, so he is weak, has difficulty walking, and cannot do anything. The family's main income to raise 4 growing children depends on two fields of rice and Mr. Hung's monthly state subsidy of more than 400,000 VND for the disabled.
