(Baonghean.vn) - Suffering from a congenital condition of having no urge to defecate, the family is too poor to afford treatment. At 7 years old, Nguyen Ba Thang, from Hamlet 12, Quynh Thach commune (Quynh Luu district), is frail and his abdomen is progressively distended.

"Father Nguyen Dinh Thuc incites parishioners."

Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung (41 years old) and his wife, Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen (43 years old), have four children. Thang is the third child in the family. After Thang, there is a twin sibling. Three days after birth, Thang was still unable to have a bowel movement, so the family took him to the hospital. After examination and monitoring, the doctor concluded that Thang had congenital constipation and transferred him to the National Children's Hospital for treatment.

Due to their extremely difficult family circumstances, instead of transferring their child to a medical facility, Mr. and Mrs. Hung had no choice but to bring their son home and assist with bowel movements using enemas. Each time, Thang could only defecate a small amount. With this condition, without enemas, the child would not have the need to defecate even after 5 or 10 days.

Seven years have passed, and the terrible disease has left Thang frail, weighing only 19 kg, with a distended belly. Thang always feels full and bloated, so at each meal, he can only manage to eat half a bowl of rice with great effort.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung suffers from a congenital disability due to exposure to Agent Orange, making him frail, unable to walk, and unable to work. Ms. Yen, although healthy, is not as agile or resourceful as other women. The family's main income, supporting their four growing children, depends on two plots of land and Mr. Hung's disability allowance of over 400,000 VND per month.

Ms. Le Thi Phuong, head of Hamlet 12, Quynh Thach Commune, said: "Thang is very pitiful. His father is affected by Agent Orange, and his mother is mentally disabled. Thang himself suffers from a congenital condition that prevents him from defecating, but they lack the money for treatment. The family is in extremely difficult circumstances and desperately needs the generous support of readers near and far."

Any support or assistance for Thang should be sent to the following address:Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung, Hamlet 12, Quynh Thach Commune, Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province.
