(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 25th, Mr. Vi Văn Ninh in Bãi Xa village, Tam Quang commune (Tương Dương district) dug up a sweet potato weighing 4.5kg.

Mr. Ninh said that, taking advantage of his day off from work, he and his wife went to the garden to dig up the potato rows to replant. While cutting the potato vines before digging, Mr. Ninh saw a potato tuber sticking out of the ground. Finding it unusual, he used his hand to dig it up, and after a while, the potato tuber gradually emerged.

Bringing the sweet potato up, Mr. Ninh quickly took it inside to weigh it and couldn't believe it weighed 4.5 kg. Mr. Ninh said, "My family planted this sweet potato garden last September, using only manure and no growth stimulants whatsoever. I've never seen or dug up such a large sweet potato before." Besides the unusually large sweet potato, Mr. Tuan also unearthed several other sweet potatoes that were larger than normal.

Ever since he dug up this "giant" sweet potato, his family has been bustling with activity as many people come to see and take pictures of the rare sweet potato.
