The writer of the letter is teacher MTHG, working in the mountainous district of Tuong Duong - a breast cancer patient. For 2 years, teacher G and doctors have been fighting the disease relentlessly. When many hospitals were helpless, but with a strong desire to live, she herself refused to give in to fate. In mid-2016, Ms. G returned to the Nghe An Province Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center. In the emergency room bed, she read the heartfelt letter that her husband had written down and sent to the Director of the center...

The letter reads: “Dear Uncle V! I am a patient of MTHG. I am currently in the emergency room. Dear Uncle! Yesterday, when you came down to examine me and talk to me, I felt much better, even though I knew my illness was very serious. Tonight, I asked my husband to write a few heartfelt lines to you... Dear Uncle V! It has been more than 4 months now, I cannot walk or talk normally like everyone else, I have to rely on my husband for everything. For more than 2 years, I have struggled with the illness, going from one hospital to another, taking one medicine to another, but my condition has not improved but has gotten worse.

I had breast cancer, was treated in Hanoi, and now I have been discharged from the hospital for 6 months and then relapsed. The doctor said I have multiple bone metastases, slight collapse of the L3 vertebra, and bone marrow failure affecting the liver and lungs. With this condition, I know my chances of survival are very low. But I love my 2 children who are still too young, so I continue to fight the disease until the last second... I sincerely hope that you will treat me for any day longer."

The desire to live and the responsibility of a wife and mother expressed in the letters touched the hearts of the doctors and nurses at Nghe An Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center. Although successfully treating teacher G's illness was impossible, facing the pain of the illness and the patient's faith, they were determined to do everything to fight for her life, hoping for a miracle.

However, getting blood to transfuse for teacher G was not simple, because teacher G's blood type is rare blood type B RH - Twice a month, doctors and nurses at Nghe An Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center are constantly looking for suitable donors. Fortunately, there are a few doctors and nurses in the Center with the same blood type. Due to the shortage of blood, they personally donated blood to her...

After 4 months of fighting the disease, Ms. G passed away. But the desire and responsibility to live in the letters she left behind are always reminders for doctors to see the value of life, to truly become "A good doctor like a mother", a torchbearer leading the way for life to flourish.
